Take it as a Lesson
Hi! I have felt like It is hard to be joyful in these hard times. So that’s what the devotion for today is about, JOY! So let’s get into it!:
Ameila sat on her bed. She scrolled through her texts on her phone, watched some videos, and played video games. But nothing was making her happy. She was bored until she fell asleep that night.
The next morning she brushed her teeth and hair. She went downstairs and didn’t even touch her breakfast.
“Come eat,” Dad said, “It won’t be warm forever.”
“Not hungry,” she said.
Dad got up. “What’s wrong now?” he asked.
She looked away. “Nothing,” she said.
Dad walked over and said. “Amelia . . . Tell me or it’s not going to get any better.”
Amelia looked at him. “Chloe moved away.” She was tearing up now.
“You can still video chat with her… right?”
“Ya, but it’s not the same,” Amelia said.
“But at least you can do that! Some people can’t even do that! Philippians 4:4 says ‘Rejoice in the LORD always; again I will say rejoice,’” Dad said.
Amelia got up. “Dad I think you are right. I have been taking this as a bad thing. I should take it as a lesson! And also call her right now!”
Amelia dashed up the stairs into her room to grab her phone. She talked with Chloe almost the rest of the day.
