Hi! I have felt like It is hard to be joyful in these hard times. So that’s what the devotion for today is about, JOY! So let’s get into it!:<\/span><\/p>\n

Ameila sat on her bed. She scrolled through her texts on her phone, watched some videos, and played video games. But nothing was making her happy. She was bored until she fell asleep that night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The next morning she brushed her teeth and hair. She went downstairs and didn’t even touch her breakfast. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCome eat,\u201d Dad said, \u201cIt won\u2019t be warm forever.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNot hungry,\u201d she said. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dad got up. <\/span>\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong now?\u201d he asked.<\/span><\/p>\n

She looked away. \u201cNothing,\u201d she said. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dad walked over and said. \u201cAmelia . . . Tell me or it\u2019s not going to get any better.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Amelia looked at him. \u201cChloe moved away.\u201d\u00a0 She was tearing up now. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou can still video chat with her\u2026 right?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYa, but it’s not the same,\u201d Amelia said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut at least you can do that! Some people can\u2019t even do that! Philippians 4:4 says ‘Rejoice in the LORD always; again I will say rejoice,’\u201d Dad said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amelia got up. \u201cDad I think you are right. I have been taking this as a bad thing. I should take it as a lesson! And also call her right now!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Amelia dashed up the stairs into her room to grab her phone. She talked with Chloe almost the rest of the day.<\/span><\/p>\n
