Welcome to your weekly devotional! Today, we will talk about not being jealous of other people.\u00a0 At some point in our lives we will all be jealous of someone else.\u00a0 Let’s start:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHow was your time at Mark\u2019s?\u201d asked Dad as Ben walked in. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOkay,\u201d said Ben as he hung up his jacket. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong?\u201d asked Ben’s dad.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI just really want Mark\u2019s Xbox! It\u2019s so cool and you can play Minecraft and all these other games! I wish I could have it and play every day.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben’s dad sat down and said, \u201cJealous are we?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben quickly looked up. \u201cNO!….okay…maybe a little bit.\u00a0 It\u2019s just so cool.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Dad took a sip of his coffee. \u201cJames 3:16 says that where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and evil.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Ben looked up. \u201cHuh?\u201d he said. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s put it this way, jealousy makes things fall apart, and people end up not getting along.\u201d Dad took another sip. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYIKES!\u201d yelled Ben. \u201cThat sounds bad!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Dad said, \u201cIt is. Being jealous is very bad. It is very hard not to be because that’s just how we are. But it won’t help you live a life of contentment.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOkay, Dad,\u201d Ben said, \u201cI\u2019ll try not to be as jealous of it. I\u2019ll just ask for one for Christmas!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Dad smiled. \u201cGood plan!\u201d he said and rubbed Ben\u2019s head.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You see, jealousy is not best for our lives.\u00a0 It can lead us to not enjoy the good things we do have. We have to stop it if we can. Try going a full month without wanting what someone else has, and see if you feel more at-peace in your life.<\/span><\/p>\n
