It was Chloe\u2019s little sister Zoe\u2019s first day of kindergarten. She kept crying.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMom can you please make Zoe stop crying! She\u2019s embarrassing me!\u201d Chloe asked.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBe nice, Chloe. You were like this on the first day of school too. But way worse! You had a tantrum, and I couldn\u2019t get you off the kitchen floor. But you know what I told you?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat?\u201d asked Chloe.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI told you that God would be with you.\u00a0 The Bible says to t<\/span>rust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). And you know what you did?\u201d asked Mom.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know. What?\u201d Chloe asked.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou asked to hear another Bible verse like that! So I told you this one: ‘When I am afraid, I put my trust in you – <\/span>In God, whose word I praise – <\/span><\/span>in God I trust and am not afraid.’\u00a0 That’s Psalm 56:3-4!”<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know what that is! We learned it in Sunday school! It tells us to trust God when we feel afraid.\u00a0 He is always with us.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cExactly,” said Mom.\u00a0 “When I shared that verse with you, you said, ‘Yay! God can be my best friend in school!’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Chloe laughed and then Zoe started laughing and running around and saying, \u201cGod’s our best friend! He\u2019s so great! I trust him!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everybody laughed!<\/span><\/p>\n

We can trust God when we feel afraid.\u00a0 He is always with us.\u00a0 Even when we feel alone, we never really are alone!\u00a0 God is always right beside us!<\/p>\n
