Overcoming Trials

10 Bible Verses About God’s Faithfulness in Life’s Storms

The other night, a storm rained itself empty like it was working something out.  Sometimes life is like this—you wrestle with God until you’re poured out.  During these times, it can be helpful to find an anchor.  Today, we’ll explore 10 Bible verses about God’s faithfulness in the storms of life.

I invite you to join me as we open God’s Word together.

10 Bible Verses About God’s Faithfulness in Life’s Storms

We’ve wrestled with God more than once throughout this past year.

At times, life hasn’t gone according to our plans, and we’ve faced disappointment.

Yesterday morning, I read something in a Psalm about how faithful all of God’s work is.  Yet we often wrestle with God’s faithfulness when life is tough.  God doesn’t feel faithful when you can’t pay the bills, someone you love is sick, or everything you worked for just came crashing to the ground all around you.

You try to pick up the pieces, but there are so very many pieces.

If you can relate, here are some promises to stand on:

Bible Verses About God’s Faithfulness

1. Psalm 33:4

“For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in faithfulness.” (NASB)

We can trust in God’s faithfulness even when we are unfaithful.  His ways aren’t our ways, but he can use all things for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28).

God’s ways might not make sense to you today.  Nevertheless, he is inviting you to cling to him.  Ask him to help you grow in trust.  He will prove himself trustworthy and faithful.

2. Daniel 4:37

King Nebuchadnezzar spoke these words in Daniel 4:37: “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, for all His works are true and all His ways are just.”

God is just.  We can trust him to make right all the wrong in this world.  Now, more than ever, we can cling to this promise in an uncertain world.

These words might not feel true to you today.  Nevertheless, I encourage you to speak them.  Speak them until they settle into your heart.  All of God’s works are true, and all of his ways are just.

3. Psalm 19:8

“The precepts of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart; the commandments of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

God’s boundaries aren’t meant to stifle our fun.  They are for our protection and even our joy.

God has faithfully given us his Word as a guide.  As we walk according to his guidance, we will experience his faithfulness in even the most challenging storms of life.

4. Psalm 23:6

“Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life.”

Did you know that God is pursuing you, and he is carrying gifts in his hands?

God is pursuing you with the gifts of goodness and faithfulness today.  He wants to reveal his true character to you and help you experience his goodness and mercy.

God’s mercy extends favor where it hasn’t been earned.  He is always faithful.

5. Psalm 25:10

“All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.”

What a powerful promise for those who trust in him!

As we do our best to follow God, he guides us in mercy and truth!

6. Psalm 36:5

When you begin to doubt God’s mercy, remind yourself of these words: “Your mercy, Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies” (Psalm 36:5).

In other words, God’s goodness and mercy extend beyond our finite ability to understand or grasp.

Your mercy, Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies (Psalm 36:5). #mercy #GodsMercy #GodsLove #Love Share on X

7. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”

This verse promises us that when we face the enemy’s attacks, God is with us.  He provides strength and protection.

For those who are in Christ, we stand in the authority of Jesus amid Satan’s attacks.  We can turn to God and trust that he will give us all we need to stand firm.

8. 1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

God demonstrates his faithfulness by promising that when we confess our sins, he forgives and cleanses us.

Do you ever feel bogged down by the shame associated with your past and present sins?

Cling to this verse.  God is faithful to forgive you and cleanse you.

9. 2 Timothy 2:13

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”

This powerful verse changed my life in my early twenties.  I had been unfaithful to God, but I realized that he had never turned his back on me.

He won’t turn his back on you either.

If you have been faithless to God, he is inviting you to return to him today.  He has been faithful to you.  How will you respond to his invitation to draw near to him?

10. Numbers 23:19

God is not a man, that He would lie,
Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind;
Has He said, and will He not do it?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

God never changes.

He fulfills every promise, and all of his promises are good.  Do you need to cling to this today?10 Bible Verses About God's Faithfulness
