5 Bible Verses About God’s Faithfulness in Life’s Storms

Are you searching for Bible verses about God’s faithfulness?  I invite you to join me amid a raging storm as we open God’s Word together.

5 Bible Verses About God’s Faithfulness in Life’s Storms

The other night, a storm rained itself empty like it was working something out.  Sometimes life is kind of like this—you wrestle with God until you’re spent and poured out.  The aftermath might look like everything thirsty has been watered, or it might look like the carnage after a tempest unfurls in anger.

We’ve wrestled with God more than once throughout this past year.

At times, life hasn’t gone according to our plans, and we’ve faced disappointment.

Yesterday morning, I read something in a Psalm about all of God’s work being faithful.  But it doesn’t feel faithful when you can’t pay the bills, or someone you love is sick, or everything you worked for just came crashing to the ground all around you.

You try to pick up the pieces, but there are so very many pieces.

I hope your world hasn’t crashed down around you lately, friend.  But a day might come when it does.  If that happens, here are the words I’m standing on.  Maybe you can stand on them too.

5 Bible Verses About God’s Faithfulness

1. Everything God does is faithful.

Psalm 33:4 reads: “For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in faithfulness.”  All of it.  We can trust in God’s faithfulness, even when we are unfaithful.  His ways aren’t our ways, but he is able to use all things for the good of those who love him.

2. God is always true and just in his ways.

King Nebuchadnezzar spoke these words in Daniel 4:37: “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, for all His works are true and all His ways are just.”

God is just.  We can trust him to make right all the wrong in this world.  Now, more than ever, we can cling to this promise in an uncertain world.

3. God’s boundaries bring joy to our lives.

God’s boundaries aren’t meant to stifle our fun.  They are for our protection and even our joy.

“The precepts of the Lord. are right, bringing joy to the heart; the commandments of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes” (Psalm 19:8).

4. God pursues us with mercy.

God’s mercy extends favor where it hasn’t been earned.  Psalm 23 tells us that the Lord pursues us with goodness and mercy.

Psalm 25:10 reads, “All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.”  What a powerful promise for those who trust in him!

5. God’s faithfulness and mercy are greater than we can measure.

When you begin to doubt God’s mercy, remind yourself of these words: “Your mercy, Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies” (Psalm 36:5).

Your mercy, Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies (Psalm 36:5). #mercy #GodsMercy #GodsLove #Love Click To Tweet

How to Weather Storms With God’s Help

We’ve walked through plenty of storms that didn’t make sense at the time.  Maybe some storms won’t make sense this side of heaven.  But here are a few ways to endure the storms you’re facing today:

Anchor yourself to the One who holds us fast through every storm.

Keep your heart soft and fight with all you have not to take offense.

Keep speaking God’s Word.  Claim his promises—especially the ones you’re having trouble believing.

Lift your heart in worship—especially when you don’t feel like it.

Keep giving thanks.  Thank God for sparrows on fencerows, springtime snow showers, hot cups of tea, meals shared with loved ones, smiles from the children in your life, strangers who hold doors, and the simple gifts you often overlook.

God is faithful all the time—even in the storms.  He will hold you, cover you, and carry you.  Cling to his promises and trust that his Light is coming.  Your storm will pass, and God will make all things new.
