15 Bible Verses for Birthdays: Bless Your Loved Ones
Our daughter recently turned 15, and as she inches closer to adulthood, I’ve been speaking God’s Word over her life. No matter how old a person is turning, praying Scripture over them on their birthdays can be a rich blessing. Today, we’ll look at 15 Bible verses for birthdays.
You might write these Scriptures inside a birthday card or pray them over your loved one.
I also invite you to read to the end of today’s post for several family devotional books that make faith-building gifts for boys and girls on their special days.
15 Bible Verses for Birthdays
Let’s begin by turning to God’s Word as we explore a list of encouraging Bible verses for birthdays.
Bible Verses for Birthdays: Blessings and Prayers
1. Jeremiah 29:11, ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God originally spoke these words over his people as they endured a time of exile in a foreign land. He assured them that their future was good and full of hope.
These words are true for us today as well. As you pray over your loved one, thank God that his plans for the future are good!
2. Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
A new year of life is a new beginning. It is an opportunity to learn from the past and step into God’s abundance ahead of us.
Encourage your loved one to look for God’s hand this year. He is always at work, doing new things in our lives. He wants to reveal himself to your loved one.
3. Lamentations 3:22-24
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
One of the greatest blessings we can share with others is the blessing of hope.
Pray this birthday blessing over your loved one this. Pray for an open heart to see the hand of the Lord, experience his mercies, and walk in the awareness of his faithful provision.
