Today we turned the calendar to a new month. With hopes that the dark, cold days of winter are truly behind us, we look ahead with expectation. The daffodils are fighting their way through the earth, and the sun lingers longer overhead. Whether you’re facing a new calendar season or a new season in life, let’s spend some time reflecting on eight Bible verses for new seasons today.

8 Bible Verses for New Seasons
1. Joshua 1:9
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go (NIV).
Remember, life will change, but God does not change. He also promises to walk with you into each new season.
If the season ahead of you feels uncertain, remember that God goes with you. Even better, because God is beyond time, he is already there! Nothing surprises him, and he won’t miss a minute of your journey.
2. Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Your changing season might not make sense to you, but God is working. God is delighted when we express our trust in times when we don’t understand what he is doing.
Our family recently transitioned into a new season.
I desperately wanted God to offer a glimpse into what awaited us, but I sensed him asking me to walk by faith, not by sight. My faith grew as God illuminated the path in front of me one step at a time.
I couldn’t see the full journey ahead, but he gave me just enough insight for the day I was walking into. This is a promise for you as well.
3. Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
As you step into this new season, God will show you what to do. Keep seeking his face. He has not forgotten you. He will direct your steps.
We can cling to this promise because God answers prayers that align with his will for us. When your prayer is to walk in God’s will, God answers your prayer.
4. Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Life might change, but Jesus never will. Find peace in this promise and make him your Safe Place. He offers peace in the shelter of his wings.
More than 20 years ago, I boarded a plane and flew to Alaska. I had accepted a job that required me to spend three months in the far north, thousands of miles from my home in Pennsylvania. I didn’t know anyone, and in some senses, I felt more alone than ever.
In a different sense, I knew God was with me. Everything around me changed that summer, but God remained the same. I learned that his presence was an anchor in my life. Everything might change, but God would remain the same. This truth can bring us peace when life feels uncertain.
5. Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
God’s Word promises that seasons change. When change comes your way, remind yourself that all seasons pass. God is still with you, and he will carry you through these changing seasons.
The change ahead of you might be welcomed, or it might be something you would never ask for. Either way, trust that God is with you.
6. Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Do you feel anxious about the change you are facing? Talk to God. Cast your cares on him. He will help you and fill you with the peace that surpasses understanding as you give him your worries.

7. 2 Corinthians 4:16
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
This verse reminds us that even though change can be challenging in the flesh, God is working in our souls.

8. Proverbs 18:15
The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.
As you face this change, keep seeking God’s heart. He will guide you and give you wisdom. He promises to impart wisdom to those who ask for it.
Recently, our six-year-old son asked, “Mom, if you could have anything in the world, what would you want?”
I didn’t know where the question came from, and I told him I’d have to think about it. Then, I asked him what he would choose.
“Wisdom,” he answered without hesitation. “Just like the guy in the Bible.”
May we follow this example and seek wisdom for the new seasons ahead.
